‘Support our cause for votes’

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: In an attempt to win political support for its cause, the Delhi Residents’ Front along with its affiliate Residents’ Welfare Associations and Apartment Owners’ Associations have declared that its members will “extend support and vote for candidates who promise to support them”.

The Front has also threatened that all the members would “boycott the elections” if they find no support coming their way.

Front president Sanjiv Kumar said the residents of societies across the Capital want the candidates to ensure that “all cooperative group housing complexes are placed beyond the scope of the Delhi Cooperative Societies Act, 2003, and Rules 2007 and the jurisdiction of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies”.

The residents will insist that the MLAs sould persuade and pressurise the Delhi Government to issue directives to ensure compliance to the provisions of Delhi Apartment Ownership Act, 1986.
