Hit-and-run claims one, bus kills two

BANGALORE: Two men were killed and four injured after they were hit by a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus it Chikkasanihalli near Devanahalli on Wednesday evening. One of the dead is a police constable.

All of them had come to the aid of a hit-and-run victim who also died later. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic West) Pandurang Rane, a group of people was helping a motorist who was injured in a hit-and-run.

Police constable Gangaraju (28), attached to the Devanahalli police station, and his colleague Ashwathanarayana came to the spot when the Mysore-bound bus ploughed into the crowd.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where Gangaraju and the other victim, a 30-year-old man, died as did the hit and run victim. Ashwathanarayana and the other three are undergoing treatment.

The Devanahalli police are making efforts to identify the motorist and the 30-year-old man.
