Concern over DU vandalism

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A delegation of teachers and students of Delhi University called on Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh on Wednesday to express concern over the vandalism orchestrated by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad activists during a recent seminar on the North Campus. Submitting a memorandum with over 2,000 signatures of students and teachers from DU, the delegation said the attack was “premeditated” as ABVP had circulated a leaflet asking its activists to disrupt and stop the seminar. The delegation pointed out that democratic space was rapidly shrinking in Delhi University with growing intolerance towards differences of opinion.
