Pranab to inaugurate AAPSO meet

HYDERABAD: Union Minister for External Affairs Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the 8th conference of the three-day Afro-Asian People’s Solidarity Organisation (AAPSO) on Friday in the city.

Briefing reporters here on Wednesday, AAPSO general secretary K. Yadava Reddy and Rajya Sabha member and vice president AAPSO Azeez Pasha said the conference is being hosted by the All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO).

Delegates from 38 countries are attending the conference, which would be discussing issues relating to financial crisis and its impact on developing countries.

Issues for discussion

Other issue that will come up for discussion are climate change, against the policy of aggression, efforts for peace and nuclear free world, Non-aligned movement and South-South Cooperation.

A special mention will be made about the struggle of Palestinians, Mr. Yadava Reddy pointed out.
