’This information will provide leads to the mastermind behind the murder’ HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam has demanded that the Government make public the details of the people who used mobile phones and the conversation that went on between 3 a.m and 5 a.m on Sunday when Moddu Seenu was murdered in Anantapur jail. Addressing a press conference, TDP leaders, N. Janardhan Reddy, G. Butchiah Choudary, K. Srinivasulu and P. Keshav said this information would provide leads to the mastermind behind the murder of Seenu. They criticised Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy for his statement that the murder of Seenu was a rehearsal and many more would take place and seeking government’s protection. They found it strange for a Minister to make such a demand when he himself was part of the government. They said the Ministers instead of responding to the questions raised by TDP to strengthen their argument that it was “a meticulously planned cold- blooded government sponsored murder”, were mounting a counter attack as if Congress was the aggrieved party. These questions included why Omprakash who allegedly bludgeoned Seenu to death, was shifted from his barrack, how did he manage to smuggle in dumb- bells into the jail and why Seenu’s body was immediately shifted to hospital. The Ministers seemed to have forgotten that it was custodial death, which reflected the poor law and order situation in the State. They said they were not convinced by the government’s argument that the High Court cannot spare a sitting judge saying it was a rare murder of a person who was a key accused in the murder of a MLA and who wanted to turn approver.
