BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Wednesday trapped the Assistant Statistical Officer in the Bangalore District Health and Family Welfare office while allegedly accepting Rs. 12,000. Assistant Statistical Officer Umakanth Bhat came to the clinic of Shakuntala and asked her about the renewal of licence. Dr. Shakuntala entrusted the work to her friend Nagaraj. Bhat allegedly demanded Rs. 15,000 from Dr. Nagaraj and later agreed for Rs. 12,000. — Staff Reporter
