VIZIANAGARAM: The response to mega job mela conducted jointly by the ITI, District Employment Exchange and DRDA under the ‘Rajiv Udyoga Sri’ on the premises of the Industrial Training Institute on Thursday was good. Over 2,000 candidates attended the mela. In all, 12 companies namely Samsung Electronics (India) (P) Limited, HBL Power Systems, Vijaya Electrical Limited, Nellimarla Jute Mills, Techno Economic Consultancy etc., put up stalls on either side of the institute building. A display board was kept at the entrance listing the companies and the stall number for the convenience of job seekers. Collector G. Ram Narayana Reddy, who inaugurated the mela, inspected the stalls. He said that the mela was organised to bring companies on to a single platform for the benefit of technical and non-technical unemployed youth. He said that if any aspirant failed to get a job, the DRDA would impart training and prepare them for the job melas in future. ITI principal Thodermal, District Employment Officer Venkata Ratnam and a number of officials conducted the mela in an organised manner. New ITIsRegional Deputy Director (employment) J.V. Prabhakar Rao has said that 42 government industrial training institutions will be inaugurated simultaneously in the State on Friday. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Prabhakar Rao said that four institutes out of 42 were sanctioned for the three North Andhra coastal districts (Palasa and Rajam in Srikakulam district, Salur in Vizianagaram district and Payakaraopeta in Visakhapatnam district).
