Beware of tricksters

Spate of offences committed by gangs skilled in diverting the attention of bank customers are keeping the police on tenterhooks.

Even after police launched a campaign educating people on the modus operandi of these gangs, tricksters continued to strike unabatedly.

The gangs also adopted a different modus operandi in two offences reported a few days ago as against their earlier method of throwing Rs.10 currency note on the main road and escaping with booty from the bank customers.

The robbers told a woman and her son travelling in a car that petrol was leaking, and when the occupants stopped to check, one of them snatched a bag containing Rs.4 lakh and fled the spot on a motorcycle. These instances may have been glorified in movies, but the underlying lesson is same. Be cautious!
