Fine arts classes

Staff Reporter

Chennai: Students of the Chennai Corporation School on Avadhanam Paapaiyar Street in Choolai had fun time practising dance steps in their classrooms on Thursday. It was their first ‘dance class’ organised as part of the Corporation’s initiative to offer training in fine arts for students in its schools.

Classes in dance, music and drawing would be taught to interested students by teachers from the Government Music College and the Government College of Fine Arts. Mayor M. Subramanian, who launched the programme, said that three schools in each of the ten zones in the city have been selected for it.
