PR observers feel many will join after Chiru’s tour of the district Leaders of some parties against taking a hasty decision SANGAREDDY: ‘Wait and watch’ is the policy being observed by the politicians in Medak district as far as joining the Praja Rajyam is concerned. Even after actor-turned politician Chiranjeevi’s tour of Coastal and Telangana districts, there are no takers for the PR in the district, one of the strongholds of the TRS as of now. While a section of leaders belonging to various parties are against taking a hasty decision that may undermine their political future, some others are of the view that the impact of Chiranjeevi’s political entry is not yet clear. “Many of us are unable to estimate the impact Chiranjeevi will have on the voters in the district. We can not come to a conclusion unless he completes his first visit to the district,” says a Congress leader on condition of anonymity. The question lingering in their minds is whether it would be a good decision to change the party at this juncture as many of them are in comfortable positions. “No prominent faces in the district migrated from other party to the PR. We hope that Chiranjeevi’s tour to the district will boost PR image and attract leaders from various other parties,” says Chiranjeevi District Fans Association president M, Ramdas. The general impression was that a clear picture would emerge only after Chiranjeevi or one of his brothers – Pavan Kalyan or Nagabubu- tours in the district. “Discussions are on with senior leaders in the district from different parties and some of them had already approached our leaders at Hyderabad. However, they have not yet made up their mind and it will take some more time,” said P. Shiva Kumar, currently representing the party in the district.
