33-year-old allegedly found dead in police custody MAHABUBNAGAR: Tension prevailed in Kosgi town here on Friday following the alleged death of a 33-year-old person in police custody. According to the police Bhusam Srinivas Reddy, who was picked up in connection with a murder case, was running high fever and reportedly died while being shifted to the district headquarters hospital on Friday morning. However, parents of the deceased alleged that their son was picked up 15 days ago and was subjected to severe interrogation. “On Thursday the local sub inspector Chandramouli interrogated him and to our shock we were told that our son died on Friday,” they said. Various political parties including the Telugu Desam and the Praja Rajyam alleged lock-up death and staged a rasta roko demanding action against the local sub-inspector. They also sought a compensation of Rs. 5 lakh besides a job to the kin of the deceased. Additional SP G. Satyanarayana, DSPs Harishchandra (Narayanpet) and Bapu Reddy (Shadnagar) rushed to Kosgi town. Heavy police bandobust was deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
