Rampachodavaram: Minister for Social Welfare Pilli Subhashchandra Bose has said only teachers can mould children as best citizens. Participating in the Children’s Day celebrations at Rampachodavaram ashram school on Friday, the Minister said that agency areas can also produce the best citizens and there were several instances of tribal boys bringing laurels to the country. Police Superintendent Y. Nagi Reddy said the police department had been conducting games to youth in agency area and it was planned to conduct different activities for children also. Rajya Sabha member T. Ratnabai exhorted to children to fix a goal and strive to achieve it. ITDA project officer Yogita Rana, Sub-Collector Manik Raj and others also spoke. Tributes paidIn Rajahmundry, MLA Rowthu Suryaprakasha Rao, MLC and city Congress president Kandula Durgesh, former MLA A.C.Y. Reddy, PCC member S. Sivarama Subrahmanyam and others paid tributes to Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary by garlanding the portrait of Nehru. Mr. Durgesh gave away prizes and distributed dictionaries to top rank children in government schools. At Gouthami Library, Mayor A. Veeraraghavamma, MLA and MLC participated in the Children’s Day programme. District planning committee member R. Balasaraswati and others also participated. Sri Viswantha Gopalakrishna Murthy also spoke in the programme. The library is planning to organise book exhibition from November 15.
