Repeated intimidation by Moddu Seenu in barrack alleged Accused in Paritala case says he has no faith in security provided to him
ANANTAPUR: M. Om Prakash, accused of killing Moddu Seenu, said on Friday that neither Suri nor Paritala Sunitha had any role in the murder. He said he killed Seenu as he was unable to bear his harassment inside the jail barrack. The suspect spoke to mediapersons at Penukonda where he was taken by the police to be produced in court. He claimed that the Boya community, to which he belongs, was being ‘suppressed’ by influential upper castes, particularly in Rayalaseema. He had killed Moddu Seenu to show the ‘power’ of his community as he was behind the killing of two Boyas in 2004 and in 2007, he said. Apart from forcing him to do menial work in the barrack, Seenu was repeatedly intimidating him by saying that his killings were proof of “Palnati Pourusham” (heroics of Palnadu area in Coastal Andhra) and was belittling Rayalaseema time and again. Meanwhile, in the Paritala Ravindra murder case trial here, a petition was filed in the District and Sessions Court on behalf of P. Goverdhan Reddy stating that he had no faith in the security provided to him during transit from the jail to the court and back. He urged the judge to provide security with CRPF personnel. Once again, Goverdhan Reddy raised slogans hailing Moddu Seenu while entering the court but the policemen shut his mouth with their hands and took him into the court hall. He vowed to take revenge against the killers of Seenu. When he started speaking in the court hall, the Judge, K. Gaddenna, said that the accused in the case should not speak until permitted by him. “They should not speak to the media nor among themselves on the court premises,” he said.
