This Day That Age
In the warmth of a bright winter sun, Prime Minister Mr. Nehru, who turned 69 on November 14, spent over two hours on the lawns of his house in the morning amidst hundreds of children who wished him a long life, garlanded him, sang songs and gave him gifts of toys. An old street mendicant who greeted the Prime Minister received a gift of clothes from him. The early callers at Mr. Nehru’s house got a cheerful smile from him as he came out at 7-45 a.m. to purchase the Children’s Day stamp from a mobile post office van.
