Farewell, dada

That Sourav Ganguly could become the subject of an editorial in a highly respected national newspaper is in itself a great tribute and honour to him (“Sourav’s legacy,” Nov. 12). Sourav’s determination and the never-say-die spirit in the face of adversity will be a source of inspiration to all. Hats off to dada, the Prince of Kolkata, nay India!

Girija Maniyan,

Madurai

Sourav’s retirement is a loss for cricket lovers and his fans. But as he himself said in an interview, he took the decision to retire to make way for youngsters. Sourav was the mainstay of Team India and will be remembered for his elegant stroke play and the victories he secured as captain.

Manzar Imam,

New Delhi
