Samarath misses double century

BANGALORE: R. Samarth, who missed a double century by a run (199, 257b, 21x 4), helped President’s XI post 387 for nine in 90 overs against Tumkur Zone in the KSCA inter-zonal under-16 cricket tournament at NRA grounds here on Friday.

At Shimoga, S.S. Darshan hammered an unbeaten 179 for Combined City XI which made 324 for two in 90 overs and in reply, Shimoga was 3 for one at close.

At Bangalore: President’s XI 387 for nine in 90 overs (R. Samarth 199, Ashish Dhar 95, Md. Wasim four for 115) vs Tumkur Zone.

Raichur Zone 60 in 18.3 overs (H.S. Sharath five for 25, J. Suchith four for 6) and 8 for one in two overs vs Mysore Zone 216 for eight decl. in 68.4 overs (N. Parikshith 53, Guruprasad 41, V. Suhas 49, Anand four for 39).

At Bhadravathi: Dharwad Zone 260 in 83.1 overs (Shashank Hulmani 81, Shreyas Murdershwar 59, Ritest Bhatkal 49 n.o.) vs Mangalore Zone 28 for three in 17 overs.

At Shimoga: Combined City 324 for two in 90 overs (S.S. Darshan 179 n.o., K.V. Siddarth 84 n.o., Sai Kumar 42) vs Shimoga Zone 13 for one in nine overs.

Mangalore beats Mysore

Mangalore scored a 25-23, 19-25, 17-25, 25-23, 15-9 victory over Mysore in the men’s section of the State senior inter-district volleyball championship at Nagamangala, Mandya District.

In the women’s section, Mandya prevailed over Mysore 22-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-19, 15-8.
