Two-day diabetes camp

MADURAI: Free diabetes check up camp is to be conducted by the Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre on November 15 and 16 in connection with World Diabetes Day.

Blood sugar level would be tested to detect if kidneys are affected by diabetes, a hospital press release said. Free consultation of diabetologists and suitable dietary modification will be advised by dieticians.

To mark the World Diabetes Day on November 14, the Indian Medical Association conducted a scientific programme, chaired by V. N. Rajasekaran, Medical Director of the hospital.

Sirish Kumar, senior consultant ophthalmologist, spoke on the link between diabetes and vision and the need for diabetics to undergo regular eye check up.
