Accused denied bail
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed a bail application by one of the Navy War Room leak case accused of 2006, observing that the charges against him were serious and there was prima facie evidence with the prosecution to sustain it.
Dismissing the application of Jarnail Singh, erstwhile Deputy General Manager in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Justice Sunil Gaur said the accused at this stage did not deserve to be released on bail.
Opposing the application, the Central Bureau of Investigation submitted that the accused had been in constant touch with dismissed Captains S. S. Rathore and Kulbhushan. Counsel for the CBI further submitted that the accused could not be freed on bail as the case pertained to the country’s security.
