Workshop on farmer clubs
A workshop for bank managers on programmes for farmers’ clubs was inaugurated by NABARD Chief General Manager S.R. Aluru here on Friday. Mr. Aluru said that NABARD facilitated the formation of 28,000 farmers’ clubs through commercial banks, RRBs, cooperative banks and other financial agencies in the country. There were 1978 farmers’ clubs in Andhra Pradesh and 100 of them were in Krishna district. He said the main objective of promoting the clubs was to propagate the principles of ‘development through credit’.
Bankers and agricultural officers from Krishna, Guntur, East and West Godavari district attended the workshop.
