‘Winning Moves’ launched

CHENNAI: A DVD set on acquiring chess skills by the country’s first FIDE-certified trainer Ebenezer Joseph was launched at the Russian Cultural Centre here on Friday.

‘Winning Moves’, which comprises three DVDs and an educative booklet, was released by Tamil Nadu Information Technology Secretary P.W.C. Davidar.

Comprising 22 episodes and over 11 hours of dedicated chess coaching, the material has been designed to cater to beginners, club players, as well as tournament players.

Mr. Joseph said the set was targeted at children between the ages of 7 and 14 years.

The product is priced at Rs. 4,999 in India and $250 internationally.

Walk-over for The Hindu

The Hindu received a walkover from Rajamanickam in the Chennai Hockey Association first division championship on Thursday.
