Minister promises to develop Kaginele

Staff Correspondent

BIDAR: District in-charge Minister Revu Naik Belamagi on Saturday said the State Government was committed to developing Kaginele in Koppal district, and the Kaginele Development Board had been constituted for the purpose.

Speaking after inaugurating a function to mark Kanaka Jayanti here, Mr. Belamagi said Kaginele, which is associated with Kanakadasa, would be developed on a par with Kudalasangama, which is linked with the social reformer Basaveshwara, in Bagalkot district.

Development schemes in Kaginele were in progress, and the State Government had released adequate funds for them, he said. He said the whole nation should celebrate Kanaka Jayanti since Kanakadasa’s “keertans” educated society on spirituality.

Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta spoke.
