Officials visit Ashraya houses

Staff Correspondent

Davangere: The Davangere City Corporation launched a drive on Friday to examine whether beneficiaries of Ashraya scheme were residing in houses allotted to them and whether individuals had been allotted two houses and also whether the allottees had sold the house or rented it to some one else. The Corporation officials, led by Commissioner Gurulingappa, visited the Industrial Layout and videographed the residents of Ashraya houses. Details of residents were collected.

Officials said that they will seize houses which are occupied by someone else other than the actual allottees. Such of those houses that were sold to someone else will also be seized.

The officials will visit all Ashraya house layouts in Davangere and re-allot seized houses to deserving persons.
