SCR scores win

HYDERABAD: South Central Railway, YMCA Secunderabad and Johnson Grammar School won their respective matches in the Annual League championship being conducted by the Hyderabad District Basketball Association. While South Central Railway got the better of Nizam Basketball Academy 84-76, Secunderabad YMCA scored a 74-60 win over St. Mary’s College (Yousufguda).

The results: SCR 84 (Vinay Yadav 14, Nihal Yadav 20, Sandeep Yadav 11, J. Pankaj 14) bt NBA 76 (Samson 11, Samuel Paul 14, Teja Sai 13, Dominic 10); YMCA Secunderabad 74 (Jessie Lawrence 30, Raja Reddy 10) bt St. Mary’s college (Yousufguda) 60 (Deepak 18, Rohit 17); Johnson Grammar School 20 (Kabir 10, Subhani 10) bt Rahimpura PG 14.

Rising Star wins

Rising Star beat Cosmopolitan Club 6-5 in the GHMC hockey tournament. Akshay Reddy and Srinivas (two each) and Ching Lamba and Venkat Surya (one each) scored for the winner. For Cosmopolitan, Somesh Yadav scored four and Aleem one. In another match, Royal Club trounced Nav Bharath Club 7-0.
