POPULAR FARE: Geeta Madhuri presents ‘Sing A Song, Sing Along’ on Sitara channel. Live shows are the in-thing for channels. Flip through them and one comes across some show or the other playing on them. The viewers too get a chance to become participants and some gift or other comes their way in return for calling in. Some of these initiatives made it big on popularity charts and in a way boosted the channel ratings. The newly launched channel, Sitara, too has decided to focus on live shows in a big way and the effort is telling. Some of these have already started catching up with the viewers and the channel will have won the first round if they make it big in popularity. Promising fareAn interactive show ‘Rangupaduddi’ is where the viewers get a chance to win a gold coin. Hosted by a bright and breezy Ashwini Sharma, it has all the ingredients to catch the attention of viewers and keep them glued. Sitara is in the process of adding two new rounds and it says this will be first ever on Telugu television. ‘Sing A Song, Sing Along’ is another one that made a very promising start and appears set for a long and successful innings if handled comfortably. A music based dial-in show presented by Geeta Madhuri, it has viewers calling in to sing their favourite songs or also ask the hostess to render the same. Stars & astrologyFor those keen on the influence of stars and astrology, ‘Sitara Balam’ is the dial-in show hosted by Bijumalla Bindu Madhava Sharma. Viewers call in to seek their queries answered on issues related to astrology. That’s not all. The channel is getting few more ready and the coming months could see them roll out the content. T.
