Minister talks tough on illegal liquor sale

Staff Reporter

Kakinada: Stringent action would be taken against those resorting to illegal sale of liquor in the State, said Excise Minister Jakkampudi Rammonhan Rao.

Speaking to reporters at Rajahmundry on Sunday, Mr. Rao said necessary instructions were issued to all the licensee shops to display the gazette number and locality of each shop. Control rooms were opened to receive complaints regarding unauthorized outlets. Licensees were instructed not to supply liquor to any unauthorized outlet and if any such instances were noticed criminal cases would be booked against them and action would be taken to suspend the licensees.
