Kozhikode: BJP State vice-president V. Muraleedharan has asked Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan to clarify why he demanded a CBI enquiry into the conspiracy behind the Marad violence when a court verdict was awaited in the case. Talking to newspersons here on Sunday, Mr. Muraleedharan said that Mr. Balakrishnan should make clear whether CPI (M) had changed its stand on the issue. “He should explain whether the demand was made after receiving further evidence regarding the case,” he said. He added that had the CPI (M) been sincere in the demand for CBI enquiry, it could have pressured the UPA government for the same, when it was supporting it.
