The newly formed Praja Rajyam has also sent signals for its backing for the formation of a Telangana state. Almost all political parties in the State barring CPI (M) have aired similar views. It is beyond one’s imagination why the Congress party is not coming out with a clear stand on the issue. It is time it took a decision and clear people’s doubts. G.L. Panchashrit Reddy, Nizamabad Awareness on RTIThis refers to the news item “Positive response to RTI Act” (Nov-08). The Act provides every citizen right to access information under the control of public authorities, in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. There is a need to propagate the provisions of RTI Act and take active part in promotion of awareness on the RTI. M. Satyanarayana Rao, Hanamkonda Pranab’s panel on TelanganaThe TDP has constituted a committee on 7-4-2008 to elicit public opinion on Telangana issue. This committee submitted its report in favour of Telangana within five months, whereas the Congress party constituted a committee (Pranab Committee) more than four years back and the report is still awaited. It is learnt that more than 90 p.c. consensus was reached and major political parties are in support for statehood for Telangana and Pranab panel is still waiting, for right time. Babu Rao, Esamia Bazar
