Variety fare at Rajasthani Diwali Mela
HYDERABAD: The best of the Rajasthani delicacies were on offer. Authentic Rajasthani jewellers displayed wide array of jewellery. The sartorial and embroidery skills of Rajasthani women on Salwars and other dress materials attracted huge crowds. Several stalls decked up with Polki style antique jewellery and trinkets were too inviting to ignore.
The annual Rajasthani Diwali Mela, held on Sunday at MCH Grounds, Dharam Karan Road, Ameerpet attracted over 1,000 families from the community. Nearly 50 stalls were decked up by genuine Rajasthani goods at the MCH grounds. It was as if the venue morphed into a mini Rajasthan. The Tambola and other games, scheduled to be played late into the night, were being eagerly awaited by the young and the old. “After the Diwali hustle and bustle, this is the ideal time for the community members to relax, share and catch up with old friendships. All the community members along with their family make it a point to attend this annual Rajasthani Mela,” says Joint Secretary of Shri Balaji Rajasthani Mandal P.D. Jakhotia.
The articles, which were on display at several stalls, were specially made for the occasion by women members of Rajasthani Ameerpet Mahila Mandal. MD of Agrasen Bank Shiva Sankar Agarwal was the chief guest for the mela.
