New CISF Director General takes over

NEW DELHI: Niraj Ranjan Das, a 1973 batch Indian Police Service officer of West Bengal cadre, took over as the new Director General of Central Industrial Security Force on Monday.

The post had been lying vacant after former D-G R. K. Das retired on October 31. Mr. Das was serving as Additional Director-General of Central Reserve Police Force (East Zone) in Kolkata for the past two and a half years. He dealt with insurgency in the North-East and the naxal problem in Orissa and West Bengal.
