TUTICORIN: A cargo vessel from Greece, m. v. Vinasim, was put on halt near the outer harbour here due to non-payment of wages for seamen for a period of four months. According to official sources, the action was initiated on the basis of an order from the Madras High Court. A team of inspectors of International Transport Federation, Stephen Fernando and Terrance, was deployed to suspend the service of the vessel. The stranded crew, three Vietnamese and 20 Myanmarese, were provided food and arrangements for their onward journey.
