VIZIANAGARAM: The objective of the proposed ‘maha dharna’ here on November 25 was to project the “anti-people policies of the State government and also the scale of corruption at every level,” said P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Telugu Desam Party Polit Bureau member. Naidu comingAddressing party cadres and leaders of Vizianagaram Assembly constituency on Tuesday, Mr. Ashok said that a committee was constituted with former MP D.V.G. Sankar Rao, former chief whip S.V.Ch. Appala Naidu and other leaders to receive representations on corruption in government welfare schemes, including Indiramma, to be presented to party president N. Chandrababu Naidu who would be participating in the dharna. He called upon party men to mobilise people from all the constituencies in the district for the protest demonstration as it was being organised on a massive scale in the district headquarters town. Party district president Yadla Ramana Murty and town committee president I.V.P. Raju pointed out anomalies in the revised voter list. Later, they led a delegation to District Revenue Officer Ch. Prabhakar Rao and demanded rectification of electoral rolls. Earlier, Mr. Ramana Murty announced appointment of K. Srinivasa Rao, who recently quit the Congress and joined the party, as vice-president of the party town committee.
