Draft photo voters list to be published on December 3

Special camps to be held at booth level on Dec. 13, 14
Plans to set up 62 polling booths in Medak district

SANGAREDDY: The district administration is making all arrangements to release the final list of voters by January 10, 2009.

Booth level officers were already on the job to take photos of the voters who were enrolled without photo identity. process will continue till November 25.

Arrangements are made to take photos at gram sabha, in addition to photographs to be taken by officers conducting house-to-house checks to collect data.

In case the voter is not available at his house, a representative family member of that voter can present the required photo to the visiting officer for his name to be enlisted.

Draft photo voters list would be published on December 3 and claims and objections can be filed till December 17.

Special camps

Special camps will be held at booth level on December 13 and 14.

Claims and objections if any would be addressed before December 31 and final list would be published on January 10, 2009.

Disclosing these details here on Tuesday, Collector Peeyush Kumar urged the people to utilise this opportunity to get themselves enrolled as voters with photos. He said that proposals were sent to election officials to establish additionally 62 polling booths in the district depending on the requirement.

Superintendent of Police Mohd. Iqbal and DRO Murthy were present.
