Residents block road
Staff Reporter
RASIPURAM: Residents of Ward 11 in the town blocked the traffic on a road on Tuesday protesting against the municipal administration for its failure to remove the waste dumped by its workers near a public toilet.
They claimed that the sanitary workers cleaned a public toilet a few days ago and dumped the waste near the building.
They left the place without removing the waste.
Despite representations from the people, the municipality did not initiate any action to sort out the problem, they said.
Police personnel rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators. Traffic in the area was affected for a short period.
