Pukasa rally to reach district tomorrow

MALAPPURAM: A campaign jatha by the Purogamana Kalasahithya Sanghom (Pukasa), in protest against colonialism, genocides, fundamentalism and religious militancy, will reach the district on Thursday.

The march, which began from Kasaragod on November 16, will pass through Ponnani, Calicut University and Edakkara in the district.

The march is being led by writer U.A. Khader and Pukasa State general secretary V.N. Murali. Cultural leaders will present programmes at Cherukad Nagar at Chandapadi, Ponnani, on Thursday morning.

The march will reach Kadammanitta Nagar, near Calicut University, at 3 p.m., and E.K. Ayamu Nagar at Edakkara at 5 p.m.

Writers and cultural leaders such as Manamboor Rajanbabu, K.E.N. Kunhahamed, Purushan Kadalundi, N.V.P. Unnithiri, V. Seethammal, Nilambur Ayisha and Basheer Chungathara will take part in the programmes.
