TRS may align with Congress

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday expressed his willingness to forge an alliance with the Congress in the next elections after it conceded the demand for separate Telangana.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr. Rao said he had inputs from New Delhi that the Congress high command had decided to grant statehood to Telangana and he would get an invitation from it in five to six days for further consultations. “The TRS was morally bound to go with Congress in the polls in that event,” he remarked.

Mr. Rao said the Congress high command had realised it could not risk going to polls alone. He expected a clear picture to emerge in the next ten days.
