Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced the “highest-ever” sugarcane price of Rs.170 per quintal for early maturing varieties, Rs.165 per quintal for mid-maturing varieties and Rs.160 per quintal for late maturing varieties.

Describing the announcement as a bonanza for over three lakh sugarcane growers across the State, he said the rates announced by him were higher than the ones announced by the neighbouring States of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh recently.
