This Day That Age
The warm and affectionate welcome extended by Mr. Nehru to the Canadian Prime Minister, Mr. Diefenbaker, on his arrival in New Delhi on November 18 and the spontaneous response of the latter in moving terms gave an indication not only of the personal regard and friendship between the two leaders but also of the cordial relations that exist between the two countries. Addressing Mr. Nehru, the Canadian Prime Minister said: “You enjoy a reputation and fame in our country equal to that in your own. You do so because of your contribution and your country’s contribution to peace in the world and that is the objective of all of us.”
