dated November 19, 1958: Indian goods in Europe

In pursuance of the recommendations of the delegation led by the Union Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Satish Chandra, to the Soviet Union and other East European countries earlier this year, the Government of India have opened negotiations for entering into “swing credit” arrangements with some of these countries. In effect India would be giving rupee credits to these countries as a measure of export promotion. Such a facility has already been provided for in the trade agreement with West Germany.
