Arrest mysterious, says diocesan vigilance panel
Staff Reporter
KOTTAYAM: The Roopatha Jagratha Samithy (diocesan vigilance committee) of the Knanaya Archeparchy of Kottayam has said that the sudden arrest of two priests and a nun in the Sr. Abhaya case is mysterious.
A press note from the samithy said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was engaged in an effort to save its face. The contents of the deposition of the youth which have become crucial in the arrests are also mysterious. It appears that the CBI is acting according to a pre-planned script, the press note said.
Those who have been arrested are innocent. Investigations should he held in the case of others whose names had come up earlier. The real picture would come out if a clear investigation is instituted into the case, the note said.
