Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: P.P. Rafeena, a Class X student of Thalipparambu Modern Secondary School, Kannur, bagged the best children’s literature award institute by the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare. Rafeena won the award for her collection of poems ‘Iniyum varatha kavitha.’ The award consists of a citation and a cash prize of Rs.5,000. Media awardsVineetha Gopi, Hema Gopan, Gayathri Jayaraj and Rosamma Chacko of Malayala Manorama jointly bagged the N. Narendran Memorial Award for best print feature series on child welfare. The Victor George Memorial Award for best photo feature on children went to Ajeeb Komachik of Madhayamam. The documentary ‘Verpadinte Kanapurangal’ produced by Kairali TV and directed by Muthukulam Jayakrishnan won the award for best television feature award. The media awards constituted by the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare consist of a citation and Rs.10,000 cash prize. The awards would be given away at a function to be held in December, council general secretary P. Krishnan informed in a statement here on Wednesday.
