SALEM: The Jawahar Children’s Club will conduct district level cultural competitions for the schools children at the Government Music School premises at 10 a.m. on November 21.

The club would conduct vocal, dance and drawing competitions. Children would be grouped into three categories based on their age: Group I - 5 to 8 years, Group II - 9 to 12 years, Group III - 13 to 16 years. Students who win the first prize in the Group II and Group III would be sent to participate in the State level competitions.

Students who learn classical music are eligible to participate in vocal competition. Students participating in the dance competition should perform folk or classic dances.

Dances based on film songs and western dances are not allowed. Children should bring in the required materials to participate in the drawing competition. More information can be obtained from the music school.
