Main issues to be discussed at the EC meeting would be implementation of some of the academic reforms, providing new facilities to the students in the hostels and improving total available space for students in hostels on the campus. One of the major decisions to be taken are building a modern cooking centre attached to a 600-seater dining hall so that all the residents of boys hostel could have their food at a time. New buildings were being proposed for Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry and a 24-room Guest House. Incomplete rooms construction of Satavahana Hostel would also be discussed at the meeting on ANU on Friday. Inter-University South Zone Men’s Kabaddi tournament will be organised on the ANU campus from Saturday till Tuesday next for which teams from 39 universities from all over South India will participate in it. The non-teaching staff union VIKASA has meanwhile, demanded a discussion on compassionate appointments due to medical invalidation as per G.O. 661 of October 23, and its adoption for university services.
