Conviction modified
ADILABAD: Adilabad first additional sessions judge Venkataramaiah on Wednesday modified the two-year imprisonment sentence of Adilabad ZP chief Ramesh Rathod in a case relating to assaulting a forest official.
The judge imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 instead of imprisonment sentence to the ZP chairman. The Luxxettipet judicial first class magistrate had sentenced the ZP chief to undergo two years imprisonment in December 2007. The judgement had resulted in Mr. Rathod being ineligible to contest from Khanapur (ST) Assembly constituency during the byelections this year.
