Belgaum: The Market Police here arrested two youths on the charge of smuggling gold and seized gold and gold ornaments weighing 4.29 kg and 420 mg respectively from them on Wednesday. According to a press release here on Wednesday, Police Inspector S.K. Marihal and his staff chanced upon the accused Nagaraj Ganapati Palankar of Chembur in Mumbai and Prabhakar Shivaji Taralekar of Bhagyanagar in Belgaum city who aroused the suspicion of the police after they alighted from a private bus. On searching their bags, the police found gold and gold ornaments that had no documents such as receipts. The accused were produced in court and remanded in judicial custody. — Staff Correspondent
