TRS rebel MLA sets the cat among Congressmen

Staff Reporter

SANGAREDDY: Congress leaders on Thursday reacted sharply to the statement made by Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) rebel legislator T. Jayaprakash Reddy that he would contest on the Congress ticket in the next general elections.

While participating in Indira Gandhi Gandhi birth anniversary celebrations at Sangareddy on Wednesday, officially sailing with the ruling party for the first time, Mr. Reddy said that he would contest the next elections on the Congress ticket.

Objection raised

Speaking to reporters here, PCC member Rama Goud, president Raghuram Reddy, mandal president Pratap Reddy and former Municipal Chairman of Sadasivapet Satyanarayana objected to the statement.

“Mr. Reddy is not even a member of the Congress party. How can the party allot ticket to him?” they asked saying that they would see that neither he nor his wife Niramala Jayaprakash Reddy, who is holding the responsibility of district Mahila Congress president, is allotted ticket.

They said that they would oppose his candidature if the party alloted ticket to him.
