Kozhikode: The district committee of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will organise ‘padayatra’ in the district as a campaign against ‘fascist threats and Marxist misrule,’ from November 24 to 30, IUML leaders said at a press meet here on Friday. The programme was aimed at sensitising the public against the “possible dangers of fascist forces coming into power at the Centre, besides exposing the misrule of the Marxist party in the State,” IUML district president P.K.K. Bava said. Two zonesThe padayatra, which would be held in two zones — south zone and north zone — would be inaugurated by IUML State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty at Thamarassery and Balussery respectively on November 24. The two padayatras would pass through all the constituencies in the district and culminate with a public meeting at Koyilandy. IUML district president P.K.K. Bava would lead the north zone rally while the south zone rally would be captained by IUML district secretary M.C. Mayin Haji. “As many as 500 party workers will join the padayatra from each constituency while the yatra will have as many as 101 permanent members clad in white uniform,” the leaders said.
