Procedure: Junior Red Cross volunteer explaining first aid techniques at Khajamian Higher Secondary School in Tiruchi on Friday. TIRUCHI: The volunteers of the National Service Scheme and the Junior Red Cross of different schools were imparted training in first aid and disaster management techniques at a day-long camp held at the Khajamian Higher Secondary School in the city on Friday. The camp was organised jointly by the NSS and JRC units of the Khajamian HSS. D. Venkatesan from the Goldenrock Railway Workshop imparted training on first aid. The state resource person of the JRC, M. Jawahar Hassan and the Counsellor of the JURC of the Khajamian HSS, I. Badarusada explained the various disaster management techniques in detail. A team of the State AIDS Control Society, led by Shanthi, handled a session on AIDS awareness. The Headmaster of the Khajamian HSS, M. I. Mohamed Ali presided over the inaugural and the headmaster of the Government Higher Secondary School, Puthanatham, P. Thanakkan inaugurated the programme. The Correspondent of the Khajamian HSS, A. S. Ansar and others offered felicitations. Over 150 NSS and JRC volunteers of Holy Cross HSS, Ponmalaipatti, Periyar Maniammai HSS and the host school participated in the training programme.
