Woman stabbed to death
NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her estranged husband in Nabi Karim here on Friday. The accused is absconding.
The incident took place in the afternoon when Shashi allegedly attacked his wife Kavita from behind with a knife. He allegedly slit her throat and then stabbed her in the stomach. She was rushed to LNJP Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
The police said Kavita and Shashi were neighbours and fell in love. They got married two-and-a-half years ago. A year later, Kavita gave birth to a girl. But the couple separated about six months ago because of constant fights. Kavita then moved a divorce application in the court.
“Shashi is at present unemployed,” said a police officer.
