Haneef case probe report presented

P. S. Suryanarayana

SINGAPORE: Australia’s Attorney-General Robert McClelland on Friday received an inquiry report on the case of Mohamed Haneef, the Indian doctor detained in Australia for some time last year on what turned out to be untenable charges of terrorism.

Contacted by The Hindu over telephone, a spokesman for the Attorney-General said: “The report was given to the [Australian] government today [Friday]. There are no details as yet. The government is considering it. The report will be made public. I can’t give you a time frame on that.”
