AIFF elections on Dec. 23
New Delhi: The All-India Football Federation (AIFF) elections are scheduled to be held here on December 23.
The decision was taken at the AIFF Executive Committee meeting here on Saturday. The meeting was presided over by AIFF senior vice-president Praful Patel.
The Executive Committee also nominated Mr. Patel as the president-in-charge in the absence of Mr. Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi until the elections. Mr. Dasmunsi has been in hospital for more than a month following a heart-attack.
The meeting also decided to take away voting rights of six state associations — Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman, Daman and Diu, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
The contract of chief National coach Bob Houghton has been extended till the AFC Asian Cup 2011.
